Vocational Guidance

Do all people have natural capabilities?

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Mishlei, 22:6). It is a mitzvah that the education should be “In the way he should go” for every person is naturally capable of a distinct interest. Whether this is in understanding, some have intellect that is sharp, whereas some have sound, unsharpened intellect, it being necessary to teach them according to the components that are present; or whether in deeds. Some are equipped for a specific skill and specific character and will obtain it with ease. This will be recognized in the young child according to the desire and to which specific matter he exerts himself. It is necessary to train him according to his manner and to what is distinctive in him, to what he is equipped, for when he is old, he will not depart from it. This is not so, if he will train him to that which his nature rejects (Malbim, ibid).

Every person has natural skills and capabilities. You can know within 30 minutes, which vocational areas suit you best!
